Biografia: Nasce a Lewisham, Londra Sud nel 1972, ha vissuto la sua infanzia a Brighton, Sussex. A 15 anni, debutta con il National Youth Theatre ed esce di casa a 18 anni, si trasferisce a Londra. Si sposa nel 2002 con Adam Hynes e hanno tre figli: un figlio nato nel 1998; una nata nel 2003 e una nata 2006. È stata nominata per un 2003 Teatro Laurence Olivier Award per Miglior Performance in un ruolo di sostegno, nel 2002 per la sua performance nella notte Heron presso il Royal Court Theatre downstairs.
