Biografia:
Timothy è il terzo di quattro figli nati dal matrimonio di Joe, un postino, e Sylvia, una parrucchiera.
Ha frequentato il National Youth Theatre e la RADA, dove si laureò e di cui attualmente è un socio.
Noto in Inghilterra inizialmente per il suo ruolo in “Auf Wiedersehen, Pet” è stato scelto successivamente anche per film di successo come “L’ultimo samurai”.
Ha conquistato fama internazionale soprattutto per il ruolo di Peter Minus nei film di Harry Potter.
Dal 1981 è sposato con Shane da cui ha avuto tre figli.
Curiosità:
Nel 1996 gli è stata diagnosticata la leucemia.
Ha recitato nella parte di un topo in due film. Infatti ha prestato la voce a Nick il ratto di “Galline in fuga” ed ha interpretato la parte di Peter Minus, il nostro Animagus che si può trasformare in un ratto, in “Harry Potter e il Prigioniero di Azkaban”.

Nel 1999 ha vinto il Broadcasting Press Guild Award come migliore attore per la sua performance nella serie TV “Our Mutual Friends.
Mentre nel 2002, insieme al resto del cast, vinse il NBR Award per Nicholas Nickleby.
